For accurate shirt sizing - take a few moments and use the actual shirt dimensions listed for each youth Blue Angels T-shirt and compare these to an existing shirt which currently fits the child well. Click the image of each shirt to see a sizing diagram as well as the actual dimensions of each youth shirt size.
If comparing these actual dimensions to a child's shirt is not at all possible, here is some additional YOUTH T-Shirt sizing information which may be of some help, but which is not as accurate: Our Youth T-Shirts follow the industry standard of XS (EXTRA SMALL), SM (SMALL), MD (MEDIUM), and LG (LARGE). Some folks like the number sizes with each of these and they are as follows: XS = 2/4, SM = 6/8; MD = 10/12; and LG = 14/16. We suggest using these size numbers as a comparison guide only - if instead used as age guidelines, most often the shirt will end up being too small for the child. For sizing based upon age, a general guide is XS is suggested for ages 1 (it will be on the large size!), 2 and 3. SM is suggested for ages 3, 4, 5, and 6; MD is suggested for ages 6, 7, 8, 9; and LG is suggested for ages 9, 10, 11 and 12. Please also take into consideration whether the child is tall or short for his or her age. Again, if uncertain as to which shirt size will fit the child best, use the actual shirt dimensions and compare these to a shirt which fits the child well now and use that as a guide. And please remember that since kids are growing, a shirt which is CURRENTLY on the large-side may be desirable as the child will have plenty of time as he/she grows to wear it - and a shirt which fits perfectly right now will have a much shorter usage time.
